About Us

The Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance Fund, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 organization, incorporated in 1977 with the help of local businesses.  The businesses recognized the need to improve emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the Town of Bloomfield, Connecticut. 

The purpose of the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance Fund, Inc. is to raise funds for the sole benefit of the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance which is managed by the Bloomfield Connecticut Police Department.  These funds support the purchase of ambulances, equipment, and the support the volunteers of the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance.

The Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance Fund, Inc. has purchased or provided the funding for approximately 14 ambulances since their incorporation in 1977.

Funded 14 ambulances and donated them to the Town of Bloomfield

Purchase of Equipment

  • Contributed to the purchase of the ambulance building
  • Contributed to adding 2 additional garage bays to the ambulance building
  • Purchased training equipment
  • Purchased 3 power stretcher systems

Support the Volunteers

  • Contribute to the Bi-Annual Appreciation Awards Banquet
  • Fund various uniform items
  • Support volunteers to attend the State EMS Conference
